About John Monteleone

I am a board certified Family and Sports Medicine Physician providing primary care and preventive health services to patients of all ages. I have been practicing sports medicine for over 30 years and have worked with all types of athletic injuries, participating in recovery and rehabilitation, determining the eventual return to sport, and developing strategies to prevent future injuries.
With Masters degrees in Science and Public Health in Nutrition, I help patients change eating habits, improve diets, and optimize exercise plans and training programs. I partner with my patients to set long term goals to improve health, lose weight, increase muscle mass, have more energy and feel better.
As a UCSF Associate Clinical Professor in Family Medicine, I help people change their behaviors and lifestyles to become healthier and better manage their diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, obesity and other cardiovascular conditions.
My ultimate goal is to provide expert care to each person, with compassion and concern for their optimal health and well being.
